Key Responsibilities of the Physiotherapy Technologist
• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans to address physical conditions affecting mobility and function.
• Deliver a range of physical treatments aimed at reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and preventing secondary disabilities.
• Monitor and manage mobility challenges, including providing appropriate walking aids and supports.
• Participate actively in ward rounds to communicate treatment strategies and collaborate with the medical team for holistic patient care.
• Support the multidisciplinary team by conducting physiotherapy assessments and contributing to patient reviews.
• Maintain accurate clinical records documenting treatment interventions and patient progress.
• Manage physiotherapy supplies and maintain inventory records.
• Adhere strictly to Beit Cure Children’s Hospital and Ministry of Health standards for patient care and documentation.
• Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.
Engage in continuous professional development through trainings and CME activities.
Qualifications and Experience Required
• Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
• Between 1 to 3 years of experience in a pediatric rehabilitation setting.
• Registration with the Medical Council of Zambia is mandatory.
• Willingness to learn additional clinical technician functions.
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues, physicians, patients, and families.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
• Work Environment and Physical Requirements
