VACANCIES AT BARRICK LUMWANA MINE

POSITION: SAFETY COMPLIANCE OFFICER – LEP
Qualifications

Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
Minimum Diploma in occupational health, safety, and environment
Experience in safety compliance in large open pit mines.
Must be able to confidently deliver presentations to large groups.
Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and annual screening.
Working knowledge of safety systems, preferably ISO, AS or NOSA based
Minimum two (2) years’ construction project experience in the mining industry in Zambia.
Member of relevant Professional Body
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Clean Class B or C manual Driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE

Minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience in the mining industry.

Diploma in OHS or equivalent
Competent in incident/accident investigation.
Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and annual screening.
Working knowledge of safety systems, preferably ISO, AS or NOSA based
Demonstrated success as an effective leader.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.
High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Member of relevant Professional Body
Must have good communication skills in the English language.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Clean Class B or C manual Driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience with at least 2 years in a mining or industrial environment.
