Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is a nationally registered NGO working with development projects in the fields of education, health, agriculture and other poverty alleviation programmes. Projects are carried out in all the provinces of Zambia reaching over 1 million people. Key funding partners include the Government of Zambia, national and international development organisations (USAID, EU, Global Fund, WFP and more) as well as private sector organisations.

DAPP in Zambia is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Business Development Officer for the Enhancing Sustainable Inclusive Resilience and Nutrition (ESIRN), operating in Southern Province.

The Duty Station for this positionwill be based in Petauke, Eastern Province.

1.     Duties and essential job functions

a)     Acts as primary interlocutor for ESIRN field business (post-harvest management issues, market access savings, insurance and credit activities) related matters at the DAPP Field office and as ESIRN field business coordination focal point at community level.

b)     Supports SEIRN District Coordinators in the implementation and monitoring of the ESIRN programme, and provides input to the design working groups, annual implementation plans and project budgets, etc.

c)     Mobilises Farmers Clubs for ESIRN field business related activities (savings, post-harvest management issues, market access, insurance and credit activities).

d)     Supports insurance companies in marketing insurance products and building insurance portfolios.

e)     Supports agro dealers in providing input and out markets to farmers.

f)      Supports and spearheads identification of prospective agro loan clients.

g)     Supports capacity building on post-harvest management issues to smallholder farmers.

h)     Ensures that progress is made in the achievement of project objectives.

i)       Conducts field visits to review project outputs and beneficiaries and to participate in other supervision and monitoring activities.

j)       Supports the ESIRN team and partners field visits (logistics arrangements, community mobilization, and others as requested).

k)     Undertakes any other tasks/roles assigned by Management/Leadership.

2.     Qualifications

2.1  Degree with experience in one or more of the following: – Rural development, rural banking, and general agribusiness or related fields. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

2.2  At least three (3) years of professional experience with an NGO.

2.3  Demonstrated and proven extension services skills

2.4  Excellent communication and human relations skills.
