Job description
Role Purpose
The Nursery Supervisor will support the day-to-day running of nursery sites by helping implement the operational plan for seeds and plants. The role focuses on optimizing resources, reducing production costs, and maintaining high-quality standards in plant growth. By assisting with tasks such as monitoring germination, managing inputs like water and fertilizer, and keeping accurate records, the assistant ensures efficient operations and contributes to producing healthy, high-quality plants aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day operations of nursery staff and facilities as directed by the Nursery Manager.
Assist in minimizing damage and waste, and report any issues related to theft or losses.
Help maintain efficient and productive team operations.
Carry out documentation and data entry to support the Nursery Manager in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist in recruitment processes for casual staff when required.
Support induction, training, and coaching activities for nursery staff.
Ensure equipment is in good order, calibrated if required, and available before operations commence.
Monitor plant nurseries for pests, diseases, and other issues as per SOPs, and promptly report findings to the Nursery Manager.
Participate in general maintenance of nursery sites.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications
Diploma in crop science, horticulture or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience in competitive production area, preferably nursery or farm setup.
