LIBRARIAN (x1) Location: Monze Campus
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
- PhD is an added advantage.
- Full Form V (5)/Grade 12 Certificate.
- Member of Library Association of Zambia.
- Certified and ZAQA-verified academic and professional qualifications.
- At least five (5) years’ work experience, two (2) of which should be at management level.
Job Purpose: To ensure acquisition and circulation of reading resources in a systematic manner and that the library should be kept clean all the time so as to provide a serene atmosphere for reading and research.
Responsibilities:
- Periodically formulate and update library management policies and procedures for the University and make recommendations to administration for adoption.
- Coordination of the entire library functions.
- Preparation of the proposed yearly budget for the library.
- Preparation of library requisitions for smooth running of daily business.
- Setting objectives for the library.
- Supervision of library personnel including preparation of Time table for shift hours.
- Cataloguing and Classification of books.
- Evaluating the value of books in the library.
- Training the Library personnel on library practices.
- Acquisition of both the prescribed and recommended books for the library.
- Managing electronic resources and ensuring that there is access to patrons at all times.
- Orientation of both Lecturers and students on how to access electronic resources from the university website.
- Ensuring that subscription to these resources is paid on time to avoid disruption from the providers.
- Conducting Library practice demonstration for students taking Research Skills as well as those in Postgraduate studies.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

LECTURER – NURSING (x1) Location: Kitwe Campus
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of Master’s Degree in Nursing / Health Sciences.
- PhD is an added advantage.
- Full Form V (Grade 12) Certificate.
- Valid practicing license from Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
- Certified and ZAQA-verified academic and professional qualifications.
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Job Purpose: To make a significant contribution to all activities of the organizational unit or inter-disciplinary area and play a significant role within his/her profession or discipline. Assist the Department Chairperson in the interpretation, application and achievement of the objectives, policies and regulations of the department. He/she will be responsible for all teaching and non-teaching duties assigned to him/her by the supervisor. He/she shall maintain a high level of professionalism in executing his/her assigned duties.
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for classroom teaching and be directly in charge of the educational processes in his/her courses.
- Teach at least four (4) courses at the undergraduate level and organize laboratory training for the students.
- Teach at least one course at postgraduate level in his/her field of study if in possession of a PhD.
- Develop competently such courses and mentor students in the established area of research.
- Lead students in meaningful learning experiences that help them achieve a sense of personal responsibility, evaluate ideas, attain high ideals and standards of personal living, and develop high levels of scholarship.
- Prepare and supervise/administer quizzes, midterm examinations, assignments, end-of-quarter examinations for all the students in his/her classes, along with other tests as deemed advisable to conform with the objectives of the course and the published examinations schedule.
- Participate in the moderation of the course outline, examinations, and final examination grades.
- Serve as a student advisor as assigned by the chairperson or dean of the school.
- Serve as a programme coordinator as assigned by the chairperson or dean of the school.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (x1) Location: Monze Campus
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O’levels.
- Diploma in Maintenance Operations.
- Certificates in Maintenance Operations, Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Heating, Facilities Management is an added advantage.
- Certified and ZAQA-verified academic and professional qualifications.
- At least two (2) years’ work experience.
Job Purpose: Responsible for day-to-day repair and maintenance, and conducting of weekly inspections of Rusangu University facilities, to ensure the smooth operation and longevity of facilities, equipment, and systems and to prevent disruptions and maintain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair work on heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Perform regular inspections of building systems and equipment to assess the condition of equipment and facilities and to identify potential issues or hazards.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize the risk of equipment failure and downtime.
- Coordinate scheduling and execution of maintenance and repair work with building occupants and contractors.
- Manage inventory and ordering of maintenance and repair supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed and generate reports as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Liaise with contractors, residents and staff, giving guidance, support or details on specific/corrective actions where needed.
- Supervise maintenance staff, including training and performance evaluations.
- Maintain up to date files to track maintenance issues.
- Contact outside repair agencies as needed and ensure contractor compliance with all aspects of contractual work.
- Inspect completed maintenance and security projects to ensure that they meet the needs of the Office.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Competences:
- Previous hands-on experience in maintenance or facilities management.
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
- Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, emergency repair procedures and corrective maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Understanding of health safety regulations, compliance systems, and building codes.

ACCOUNTANT (x2) Location: Monze Campus
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O’levels.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, ZICA Professional / CA ZM, ACCA / CIMA.
- Certified and ZAQA-verified academic and professional qualifications.
- At least two (2) years’ work experience.
Job Purpose: Assist the Department with analyzing accounting data, producing financial statements and ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met in line with best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and maintaining financial statements.
- Account reconciliations.
- Budget management – participate in budget preparation, monitoring expenditures against the budget and identifying variances.
- Audit preparations to ensure financial records are accurate and compliant.
- Prepare and execute payments including electronic transfers and manual payments.
- Internal controls – maintaining and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls related to expenditure management.
- Data management – maintaining accurate records for expenditures and ensuring data integrity.
- Data analysis – analyzing data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Expenditure reporting – generate monthly and quarterly reports for management.
