Job description

PPHPZ is seeking a dynamic and committed individual for the position of Project Intern. The Project Intern will support the implementation of the project, which supports communities to undertake People`s Adaptation Plans. The Intern will ensure the effective implementation of the project activities, timely reporting, manage enumerators and lead the planning process under the supervision of the Project Officer and Programmes Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

– Develop a detailed implementation plan for the project

-Support the development of the M&E framework

– Coordinate project stakeholders and implementation partners,

– Support a community-led planning process of the People`s Adaptation Plans.

– Support the adoption and approval of the developed plans by relevant authorities

– Conduct capacity building exercises for community para-surveyors and research assistants

– Coordinate data collection exercises in the districts,

– Facilitate for the mapping of local climate actors and climate solutions/ Nature Based Solutions in the districts

– Co-create climate solutions/ Nature Based Solutions with the community and other relevant stakeholders

– Document specific bankable climate solutions with their budgets

– Support M&E activities and Reporting

– Support in the development of PAPs manual or guidelines for World bank and other stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Rural & Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.

– At least 1 year of experience or Knowledgeable preferably in climate change, climate finance, community development, urban planning or adaptation planning.

– Strong understanding of the planning process, adaptation planning, climate action, community-led development and climate finance.

– Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.

– Experience working with grassroots organizations, women’s groups, youth groups, or marginalized communities is highly desirable.

– Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively with diverse teams.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management tools.

Workstation

The GCA project is being implemented in Masaiti and Lufwanyama. The intern should be a resident of Copperbelt, especially Ndola or Kitwe, or be prepared to relocate
