Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia (CCBZ) presents an exciting opportunity for the a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team. The role will report to the Manager Finance.

 

Role: Financial Accountant

Location: Lusaka

Function: Finance

Key Duties & Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting

Prepare, review, and submit monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Drive accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and general ledger.
Manage completion of financial close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Support annual audit processes and liaise with external/internal auditors.

Asset and Capital Management

Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure compliance with asset governance policies.
Oversee capital expenditure processes including forecasting, tracking, and reconciliations.
Support the capital investment process, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

Taxation and Compliance

Support tax planning and ensure compliance with local tax laws and CCBA group policies.
Review tax computations and returns in collaboration with Local and group Tax.
Ensure import/export compliance with relevant legislation.

Governance and Controls

Implement and monitor internal controls aligned to SOX and IFC requirements.
Ensure compliance with CCBA Treasury, accounting, and audit standards.
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

Partner with market finance and operations teams to deliver financial insights.
Engage with CCBA HQ Finance (Tax, IFRS, Treasury, Governance) on technical matters.
Manage relationships with outsourced financial service providers.

People & Performance Management

Support a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and coaching to junior finance team members

Skills, Experience & Education Qualification:

CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting Degree qualification
HDip in Taxation is advantageous
MBA or a Postgraduate Business Qualification is advantageous

Experience :

5 years of financial accounting experience
5 years’ financial management experience in a corporate or FMCG environment
ERP proficiency is essential.

Skills

Analyze cash flows and financial data to ensure accurate forecasting and liquidity management.
Maintain accuracy in daily cash management, reconciliations, and treasury transactions.
Clearly communicate financial information and updates to stakeholders and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with treasury operations, including currency and interest rate fluctuations.
Ensure adherence to regulations, internal controls, and company policies related to treasury activities.
