Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible to execute both planned and unplanned maintenance work on a shift by shift basis safely and effectively.  The supervisor will perform maintenance activities in a safe and effective manner with the aim of delivering results that meet quality standards and company expectations.

 

Specific Job Responsibility

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Provide support and maintenance works.
Provide technical assistant and resolution.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Provide feedback on the work done.
Set direction and pace of the team by translating organisation goals.
Be able to work with minimal supervision
Use oxy and Acetylene cutting torches.

 

Job Specific Competencies

Able to read and work from schematic drawings and on site variations.
Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor
Able to interrupt complex Fabrication drawings
Good making out knowledge and experienced with development layouts of things like: –
square to rounds
steps
lobster backs
cones
chute
Fixed and Mobile plant experience
Pipe fitting and fabrication
MIG & TIG experience
Oxy lancing
Air arc gouging
Welding with gas and gasless welding wires
Silver soldering and Brazing
Experience with Bucket repairs, hard facing and rebuilding
Experience with Truck tray relining

Experience required to perform in this job

Relevant trade/skill or role required experience

Hold relevant artisan certification in fabrication/welding
At least 3 years working experience in fabrication maintenance and repair
Where appropriate, computer reiterate
Hold valid driver’s license
Must have a Grade 12 Certificate
Minimum of Crafts certificate in Metal Fabrication
Must be a member of EIZ
All Qualifications must be certified by ZAQA
