VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: MAINTENANCE TRAINING COORDINATOR

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Maintenance Training Coordinator to join the versatile Human Resources department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Superintendent, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the delivery of training and competency development programs for all maintenance personnel. The role ensures maintenance teams receive structured, compliant, and effective training aligned with OEM standards, site procedures, and operational requirements.

 

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

 

Develop and maintain annual and monthly maintenance training schedules.
Coordinate training activities with Maintenance Superintendents, Supervisors, and Planners.
Ensure training aligns with maintenance strategies, shutdown schedules, and production priorities.
Track training attendance, progress, and competency status
Manage maintenance competency frameworks and scorecards
Support the assessment process by coordinating assessors, trainees, and assessment evidence.
Ensure competency profiles for fitters, auto electricians, welders, and planners are up to date.
Assist subject matter experts (SMEs), OEM trainers, and internal trainers in delivering structured training. 

  To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

 

Grade 12 Full Certificate
Diploma in Training, Vocational Education, or Workforce Development
Trade Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mobile Equipment
Familiarity with maintenance planning Systems – CMMS, SAP, Pronto and/or equipment manuals
2 years’ experience in training, coaching, or coordinating maintenance programs.What We Can Offer You:
