Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (“KHFCL”) is a company that is wholly owned by Zambia Fruit Company, a subsidiary of the Industrial Development Corporation (’’IDC”). The Company is located in Mwinilunga District, Northwestern Province. The Company has a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant with a processing capacity of 3 metric tonnes per hour.

The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all procurement activities for Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (KFCL). The role ensures that goods, services, and raw materials are procured in a timely, cost-effective, and transparent manner, in compliance with company policies and industry standards. The Senior Procurement Officer will work closely with production, finance, and commercial teams to guarantee uninterrupted operations and value-for-money in all supply contracts.Zambia job market
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company’s operational needs.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and monitor their performance.
Procurement Process Management:
Manage the entire procurement cycle, from purchase requisition to order placement and delivery.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
Prepare and process purchase orders, RFQs (Request for Quotation), and RFPs (Request for Proposal).
Cost Management and Reporting:
Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review.
Inventory and Logistics Coordination:
Collaborate with the Factory Manager and Production team to forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels.
Coordinate logistics for the timely delivery of goods to the factory.
Resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, quality problems, or late deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 Certificate
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, or other relevant fields.
Professional certification from a recognized procurement body (e.g., CIPS) is a significant advantage.
Should be a member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Proven experience in vendor negotiation and contract management.

Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
In-depth knowledge of procurement laws, governance, and industry processes.
High-level interpersonal and communication skills.

Capacity to adapt to policy and legislative changes.
