Purpose

The Mechanical Gold Supervisor is responsible for the installation, management, safe operation, and maintenance of equipment in the Gold Area, including machinery and processes in a world-class operating plant.

? Key Responsibilities

Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal regulations (HSE, finance, HR, etc.).
Operate within Zambian laws.
Develop safe working procedures and participate in HSE initiatives.
Ensure compliance with H&S standards (e.g., lockout/tagout).
Create and implement Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
Apply best-practice maintenance techniques.
Conduct formal workplace inspections and corrective actions.
Supervise execution of maintenance plans.
Use computerized maintenance systems for scheduling and tracking.
Report on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Monitor component wear and tear.
Provide hands-on technical and supervisory support.
Recommend improvements to plant design and equipment performance.
Enforce housekeeping standards.
Manage team performance through reviews and coaching.
Identify training opportunities and mentor staff.
Promote a positive employee environment.
Perform other duties as required.

? Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
EIZ & ERB membership/registration.
Knowledge of manual, electrical, and hydraulic tools.
Proficiency in metrology and technical drawing interpretation.
Computer literacy and fluency.
Experience with PRONTO or similar systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

? Experience

Minimum 5 years in maintenance operations in asset-intensive industries.
Knowledge of fixed plant equipment (e.g., concentrators, screens, pumps, cyclones).
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
Completion of leadership or supervisory training.
