Job description

Job Opportunity: Physical Education & Music Teacher

Location: Ibex, Lusaka Reports to: Expressive Arts Coordinator

The Role

We are seeking a versatile and passionate educator to join our team in the dual capacity of Physical Education and Music Teacher. You will be responsible for fostering physical well-being and artistic expression, helping our students develop discipline, teamwork, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Education: Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that promote fitness, motor skills, and sportsmanship. Organize school-wide sports events and extracurricular clubs.

Music Education: Instruct students in music theory, vocal performance, and/or instrumental skills. Lead the school choir or ensemble and coordinate performances for community events.

Holistic Development: Integrate Pestalozzi’s “Head, Heart, and Hands” philosophy into every lesson, ensuring students develop emotionally and socially as well as academically.

Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain records of achievement.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in PE/Music.

Skills: Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (piano or guitar preferred) and a strong background in various sports/athletics.

Mindset: A deep commitment to child-centered learning and the empowerment of youth from diverse backgrounds.

Experience: Previous experience teaching in a multicultural or residential school setting is a significant advantage.
