Position: Local Area Representatives

Locations: Lusaka and Southern

Contract: One (1) Year – Renewable based on performance

Remuneration: Commission-based with a base salary.

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION

Job Title: Local Area Representative
Supervisor (2nd Level): Sales & Distribution Manager
Supervisor (1st Level): Sales Representative
Subordinates: Driver/Salesman

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To attend to customer queries, monitor competitor products, provide feedback on market situations, monitor beer quality in the market, and act and/or recommend appropriate interventions to the Sales and Distribution Manager. The role also focuses on developing new business avenues and building strong relationships with retailers and customers.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Sales Targets

Penetration of new outlets
Ensure distributor volumes and targets are met, monitored, and communicated daily
Ensure SKU availability and serviceability by cluster
Conduct daily calls to all retail outlets in the assigned area

Quality Control

Check and address trade compliance concerns
Enforce recommended retail price (RRP) compliance in the trade

Customer Relations

Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and stakeholders
Provide timely feedback to customers and management on matters of concern
Ensure prompt response to customer queries

Safety

Ensure Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vehicles are equipped with appropriate safety equipment

Company Image

Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times

DECISION-MAKING POWERS AND AUTHORITIES

Authority to investigate and identify potential problem areas related to sales and distribution
Authority to organize and control promotional activities in line with company policies
Authority to recommend daily sales budgets in consultation with the Sales Representative
Authority to withdraw substandard products from the trade in consultation with the Sales Representative

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education

Minimum:

Diploma in Business Management/Administration, Marketing or Sales Management
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience

Minimum:

At least 1 year experience in marketing and distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)
Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply.
