Oversee and coordinate raw material testing, raw mix design optimization, product testing and inspection process of DCZL products to ensure optimal quality of clinker and final cement products is achieved as per pre-determined quality standard and norms.
Oversee the implementation of ISO, OHSAS, Systems for quality management systems to ensure adherence to internal policies and standards, customer specifications and external regulations.
Conduct medium to long term process tests and studies and assist in recommendations for improvement in process optimization based on test results.
Carry out detailed analysis of key process trends, developments and changes in equipment operational performance behaviors in Dangote Cement Plant production processes.
Prepare and drive the implementation of the annual quality control plan for the plant.
Lead and train QA/QC staff to provide guidance and conduct training on quality procedures, standards and management systems.
Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on laboratory equipment and periodical calibration of equipment, is conducted in the laboratories.
Liaise with Production Head on a continuous basis to ensure effective and efficient execution of plant operations to resolve issues and communicate quality expectations.
Liaise with Mines Head on a continuous basis to get correct composition of raw materials from Mines in order to achieve the optimum raw mix design.
Coordinate and liaison with customers on quality related aspects.
Communicate effectively with different stakeholders, such as top management, employees, customers, and suppliers. Leadership qualities to present and explain the process vision, goals, and improvements in a clear and concise manner.
Prepare annual calibration schedules and ensure calibration is carried out on laboratory equipment’s as scheduled.
Encourage teams to evaluate current procedures critically for efficacy, quality, and simplification to execute process improvements to boost operational effectiveness.
Provide periodic reports on the activities and performance of the plant QA/QX function for the attention of the plant Director.
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

 Education and Work Experience

Grade 12 School Certificate
Minimum degree in Chemical Engineering/Production Management/ Pure Chemistry or any related discipline.
Masters degree will be added advantage
Member of a Professional body
Registered Practitioner / Engineer
Previous experience in a Cement Industry desirable
Certified Quality Assurance Practitioner
Valid Silicosis certification
A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ progressive work experience.

Familiarity with fraud risk indicators and investigation techniques.
Excellent knowledge of Enterprise Resource Packages such as SAP
Excellent communication, leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, organisational and communication skills
Proficiency in data analysis tools
High ethical standards and integrity.
