ACCOUNTS CLERK
Kaposhi Bakery Located within Chaminuka Nature Reserve
Kaposhi Bakery, operating within the scenic Chaminuka Nature Reserve, is seeking a meticulous and organized Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial management of a growing bakery operation in a unique natural setting.
Position Overview
The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Kaposhi Bakery, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with various accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
Reconcile bank statements and petty cash accounts
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
Track inventory costs and assist with stock reconciliation
Prepare financial reports and summaries as required
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding payments and queries
Maintain confidentiality of financial information
Support the finance department with administrative tasks
Minimum Requirements
Education: Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Competencies: Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational abilities, and good communication skills
Availability: Must be ready to commence employment immediately upon selection
Desirable Qualifications
ZICA Part qualification or working towards professional accounting certification
Experience in the food production, retail, or hospitality industry
Knowledge of Zambian tax regulations and compliance requirements
Familiarity with inventory and stock control systems
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
