Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Specialist – Data Analyst to join the versatile Lumwana Learning & Development department. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to Senior Data Analyst, the Specialist – Data Analyst will be responsible for transforming raw learning data into actionable insights, driving evidence-based decisions to improve training effectiveness, boost employee performance, align learning with business goals, and demonstrate ROI for L&D initiatives, ensuring programs are engaging, relevant, and impactful.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Analyze training data from Damstra (LMS) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Measuring the effectiveness of learning programs through key performance indicators (KPIs) like completion rates, assessment scores, and engagement levels.
Build and maintain visual dashboards and reports to show completion rates, skill gaps, cost per learner etc.
Monitoring the impact of training initiatives on employee performance and organizational goals.
Identify areas of improvement for enhancing learning content, delivery methods and overall program design.
Collaborating with L&D teams to align learning strategies with company objectives.
Conduct data quality reviews and implement corrective actions.
Support system integration and data flow optimization.
Ensure compliance tracking of mandatory training, expiration dates and permit renewals.
Provide analytics insights for audits, management reviews, and operational planning.

 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Diploma or Degree in Data Analystics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Professional certificates in data analytics, BI tools, or database management are an added advantage.
2 – 5 years’ experience in data analytics or business intelligence in Mining industry is preferred.
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrate management systems, word processing, Presentation, and spreadsheet applications
Experience with systems such as Damstra and SAP.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
