We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the role of Head of Entity, Logistics in Zambia. The successful candidate will lead our logistics operations, driving business growth and expanding our presence in the region. This role is critical for establishing and managing logistics services in Zambia with a focus on operational excellence and strategic business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development:

Identify high-value opportunities in the logistics sector and build compelling business cases that drive growth and profitability.
Evaluate market trends critically to position PIL as a leader in door-to-door logistics solutions.

Operational Setup and Optimization:

Establish and oversee logistics entities, including warehousing, trucking, and intermodal solutions, ensuring seamless integration across the supply chain.
Build and manage a reliable network of local partners to support efficient operations.

Intermodal and Cross-Border Expertise:

Develop and manage innovative intermodal logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
Leverage extensive knowledge of South Africa’s cross-border and regulatory landscape to ensure smooth, compliant operations.

Relationship Management:

Forge and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including customers, port authorities, transportation providers and other stakeholders in the supply chain.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering customized solutions that exceed expectations.

Profitability and Business Growth:

Drive the financial success of the logistics division by modeling end-to-end costs, optimizing profit margins, and ensuring sustainable growth.
Build a strong sales pipeline and convert leads into long-term business partnerships.

MUST HAVE:

Extensive Industry Experience: Deep knowledge of East Africa’s and cross-border shipping, logistics, and transportation sectors, with a proven record of accomplishment and leadership success.
Entrepreneurial Vision: Ability to identify opportunities, critically assess their viability, and execute strategies to build a thriving business.
Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Expertise in crafting data-driven business cases and optimizing operational performance.
Leadership Excellence: A confident decision-maker with exceptional people management skills and the ability to inspire teams to deliver outstanding results.
