Call for Expression of Interest: External Audit Services
Gwembe Women’s Lobbyis inviting reputable and qualified audit firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to conduct a statutory external audit of its financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
Background
Gwembe Women’s Lobby (GWL), a chapter of the Zambia National Women’s Lobby(ZNWL) established in 1998, is a leading organization dedicated to promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, and community-driven development in Gwembe District. With decades of experience advocating for women’s rights, GWL has become a trusted partner for local communities, government institutions, and development stakeholders.
The purpose of this audit is to express an independent professional opinion on the financial position of the NGO and to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant donor requirements.
Scope of Work
The audit will cover all financial transactions, records, and statements of Gwembe Women’s Lobby for the period from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.
The scope of the engagement will include, but is not limited to:
Audit of Financial Statements: Expressing an opinion on whether the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Gwembe Womens Lobby.
Compliance Audit: Verifying compliance with Statutory Obligations and compliance issues (NHIMA, NAPSA) and the specific financial reporting requirements of key donors, including a review of grant utilization.
Internal Control Review: Providing a Management Letter detailing any significant weaknesses in internal controls and making recommendations for improvement.
Mandatory Requirements for Application
Interested firms must meet the following minimum criteria:
Must be a legally registered and recognized audit firm in Zambia.
Must be a member in good standing with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
Must have documented experience (minimum years) conducting external audits for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and grant-funded projects.
Must provide a practicing certificate for the lead auditor.
Submission Requirements (EOI)
Interested firms should submit an Expression of Interest package that includes the following documentation:
Company Profile: Detailing the firm’s legal registration status, physical address, and organizational structure.
Relevant Experience: A list of at least three (3) current or recent NGO clients, with brief descriptions of the services provided and contactable references.
Team Capacity: CVs of the proposed audit team, highlighting the qualifications and experience of the partner and manager assigned to this engagement.
Proof of Compliance: Certified copies of the Firm’s ZICA practicing certificate and current Tax Clearance Certificate from ZRA
