The role of Logistics Officer – Manganese Aggregation is temporary for 6 months in the Commercial Directorate. The location of this position is in Serenje and MansaCareer counseling service
Job Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee and coordinate the day-to-day manganese ore haulage operations from the storage yard to designated points. The role ensures efficient carrier management, accurate contract administration, and strict adherence to logistics plans, safety procedures, and company protocols. The officer is responsible for maintaining transparent and effective relationships with all transport suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and oversee daily manganese ore haulage and truck dispatch.
Serve as the primary contact for trucking companies and transport suppliers.
Administer haulage contracts and maintain a database of approved carriers.
Verify transporter invoices against trip sheets and waybills for accuracy.
Prepare daily and weekly performance reports on haulage operations and KPI’s.
Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Monitor truck movement and resolve operational issues or delays in transit.
Conduct regular safety briefings with drivers and loading crews.
Perform other duties as assigned to support commercial and supply chain objectives.
Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:Buy vitamins and supplements

GCE or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included.
Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (added advantage).
At least 2 years’ experience in logistics, transport operations, or supply chain coordination, preferably in mining, freight, or a related industry.
Prior experience with transporter management and contract administration is an added advantage.Key Competencies:
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Excellent numerical skills for rate verification and data analysis.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
High integrity and ethical standards.
Attention to detail.
Communicates effectively and possesses strong interpersonal skills to build positive working relations with internal teams and external suppliers.
