Job description:Career counseling services
To facilitate the processing of all permit types and visas, ensuring that all expatriates work and reside legally in the country. The role also involves administering immigration matters to maintain accurate and timely records.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal regulations related to health, safety, environment, quality, finance, and human resources.
Maintain and update both electronic and manual immigration files for all expatriate employees.
Process and facilitate issuance and extensions of report orders in a timely manner.
Handle new applications and extensions for expatriate and contractor employees at both regional and headquarters levels.
Prepare and update immigration reports (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Maintain a combined database for departmental immigration status, accessible to HODs.
Organize expatriate employee files, including contracts, work permits, visa receipts, and statutory documents.
Ensure expatriate employees are affiliated with relevant professional and statutory bodies (e.g., EIZ, ERB, ZCAA).
Maintain accurate records and ensure data is entered into all relevant databases.
Process and facilitate visas for employees, expatriates, and contractors.
Assist the Supervisor, Immigration with:
Ensuring all expatriates and contractors have valid permits.
Processing new permit applications and extensions.
Following up on deferred or rejected applications, including drafting appeal letters.
Resolving queries and managing requests related to immigration issues.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
Member of ZIHRM
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar or equivalent role
Ability to contribute to broader functional strategies from a people perspective
Strong knowledge of Zambian Immigration and Deportation Laws
