Job description
JOB PURPOSE
UNO Energies Zambia Limited is looking for an Accountant to join the team.
The Successful candidate will oversee daily financial operations, manage financial reporting and ensure accurate record-keeping related to the company’s operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.
Payroll Administration and Verification
Oversee invoice processing, payments, and receipts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and completed on time.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to provide financial guidance, resolve discrepancies, and support operational decision-making.
Assist in the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of financial systems, procedures and internal controls.
Support external audit processes by preparing required documentation, addressing audit queries and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
Ensure accurate data reporting in line with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Manage and process statutory payments i.e. VAT & Withholding Tax,NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting package. Knowledge of TALLY system will be an added advantage.
Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
Strong Analytical skills
Understanding of Accounting principles
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 credits.
Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience preferably in the OMC Industry.
Must be a member of ZICA
Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws
