Job description

A medium size copper mining and processing company on the Copperbelt Province is seeking services of a Mechanic on fixed term contract basis. Eligible applicants should mail the cover letter, resume and C.V to kopacareers@gmail.com. Applications should be submitted by Monday, 24th November, 2025.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles to ensure they are in safe and optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, diagnosing vehicle issues using testing equipment and performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles.

Conduct testing to ensure repairs are effective, maintain detailed records of work performed, and communicate with superiors about vehicle problems and repair estimates.

Adhering to safety guidelines and keeping a clean workspace

Staying current with automotive technology through ongoing training.

Requirements and Skills

A high school certificate (Grade 12), Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair. The ideal candidates should have 2 years of proven experience, strong technical skills, knowledge of vehicle systems, and proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. Essential soft skills include problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and a valid driver’s license.
