Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Stores Officer to join their dynamic team in Mumbwa, Zambia. The successful candidate will oversee inventory control, ensure accurate stock management, and coordinate the smooth flow of materials between departments and field sites. This role is ideal for a meticulous professional with strong attention to detail and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials against purchase orders or delivery notes.
Maintain up-to-date inventory records using manual and digital systems.
Track and manage stock levels, ensuring timely reordering to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile any variances.
Ensure safe and organized storage of items in compliance with health and safety standards.
Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) principles for expiry-sensitive items.
Prepare and dispatch materials to internal teams as per requisitions.
Liaise with procurement, finance, and program teams to forecast and plan inventory needs.
Generate reports on stock levels, consumption trends, and valuation.
Uphold strict documentation, authorization, and control standards for all inventory transactions.
Candidate Profile
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in stores or inventory management, preferably in an NGO or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High integrity and accuracy in handling records.
Ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines.
