HANDYMAN PLUMBER x 1 – PERMANENT

Job description

This position will be reporting to the Artisan Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

 Key Responsibilities

•      Assist the Artisan Plumber in performing plumbing maintenance tasks in line with engineering standards and cost-efficiency.

•      Ensure plumbing work is carried out safely, minimizing the need for rework.

•      Prevent damage to materials during plumbing operations.

•      Support the creation and upkeep of high-quality civil infrastructure.

•      Provide effective and satisfactory service to all stakeholders requiring plumbing support.

•      Deliver plumbing tasks safely and promptly, meeting stakeholder expectations.

•      Help plumbers maintain hand and power tools through regular inspections and checklist reviews.

•      Assist in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing pipe systems and fixtures.

•      Help identify sources of plumbing malfunctions and support timely repairs as per work orders.

•      Participate in the inspection and testing of plumbing systems to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with standard procedures.

•      Offer suggestions to supervisors and team members on improving task execution.

•      Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to new assignments, changes in schedule, and unexpected work demands.

Qualifications and Experience

·      Full grade 12 Certificate.

·      Certificate in Plumbing/ Trade certificate in plumbing.

·      Preferably 2 years’ hand on experience in plumbing.

Familiarity with relevant plumbing standards and regulations.

·      Understanding of estate maintenance operations.

Proficient in using hand tools and equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

·      Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
