Internal Auditor Job Advertisement
1. Job Purpose
The Internal Auditor is responsible for providing high quality internal audit and services to SOS Children’s Villages Zambia at an operational and strategic level which meet recognized international standards, and which adds value to SOS Children’s Villages Zambia. The Internal Auditor is responsible for examining and evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of organisation internal control systems and procedures, and recommending corrective actions improve operations, enhance internal controls and reduce costs where possible. S/he will work closely with other teams to ensure efficient support is given to enhance the governance, risk management and internal control environment and activities within SOS Children’s Villages Zambia. In addition, s/he will promote and instil a culture of risk management & compliance throughout SOS Children’s Villages Zambia and its partners. Under the direction of the Board Audit and Risk Committee, s/he will oversee adherence to internal policies and procedures, regulations and compliance with donor requirements, ensuring that any non-conformities are documented, investigated and resolved at the same time achieving value for money.
2. Job Summary
The Internal Auditor will assist management and board of SOS Children’s Villages in reviewing, documenting and establishing effective accounting and operational controls over the Organization’s administrative and programmatic activities in the National office and all facilities within SOS CVs Zambia, and as well as supervising the examination, investigation and review of records, reports, financial statements and management practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, donor requirements and Organization’s Standard Operating Procedures
3. General aim of the position
Following the SOS Children’s Villages International auditing policy and procedure guidelines and accepted auditing standards, prepares and submits SOS Children’s Villages Zambia auditing manual and procedures for the approval of Audit Committee.
As per the auditing manual and procedures of SOS Children’s Villages Zambia, carries out planned auditing activities in the various functions and projects of the Member Association to ensure adherence to policies, regulations and procedures in the execution of respective tasks.
4. Cooperation and Reporting Relationships
Works in cooperation with all structures of the Member association including location Program Managers, Functional Heads, National Director, Regional Representative, Board of Directors, Regional Head of Audit and Compliance etc.
5. Qualifications and experience
Must have professional certification and qualification in accounting, Finance, Audit, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
Membership to the Institute of Internal auditors or ZICA
At least five (5) years of relevant work experience gained closely related field
Good understanding of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) audit standards, GAAP and IFRS
High level of computer skills, ability to audit financial and budgeting systems including ability to learn new applications quickly.
