Job description
We are seeking an experienced Techno-Commercial Manager to play a key role in setting up and managing a new printing and packaging factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for project setup, operations management, sales, and overall business leadership once operations commence.
? Position: Techno-Commercial Manager
? Reports to: Managing Director
? Location: Lusaka
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-operations phase:
Oversee factory setup, equipment procurement, and installation.
Liaise with government agencies for permits and compliance.
Supervise construction progress and machinery installation.
Source suppliers for CAPEX, raw materials, and OPEX.
Manage import logistics and recruitment of key staff.
Conduct market research and develop client relationships.
Operations phase:
Lead sales and business development to achieve revenue targets.
Oversee production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety.
Manage HR, training, and staff performance.
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Represent the company in client and stakeholder engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Printing Technology (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in either operations, industrial engineering, or business administration, sales.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
At least 10 years of working experience.
The candidate must have managerial experience in the printing & packaging sector, ideally with experience of gravure or UV flexo or CI flexo technologies, as a production manager.
Ideally the candidate will have had experience in sales, in managerial capacity.
Ideally the candidate will have experience in the labelling industry (Paper, BOPP, PVC, Self Adhesive, etc).
Ideally the candidate will have worked in Africa in a managerial capacity.
Nice to Have Experience
· ISO certification
· HAACP or Food Safety
· Kaizen or Six Sigma
· Exposure to packaging sector ERP
· Experience with SAP S4Hana or similar
