Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Zambia’s restaurant landscape, hands-on experience with the Pilot system, and the ability to drive growth through innovative marketing and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and supplier relations to maintain consistent stock levels and control costs.
Utilize the Pilot system to manage sales, stock, and staff performance reports.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations as required by Zambian authorities.
Customer Service Excellence
Lead by example to maintain exceptional service standards.
Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution.
Foster a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guest experience and encourages repeat business.
Team Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, train, and mentor staff to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.
Create schedules, monitor performance, and enforce discipline when necessary.
Promote teamwork, motivation, and a strong work ethic within the team.
Financial Oversight
Track and analyze financial performance using the Pilot POS system and other management tools.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales, costs, and profitability.
Implement cost-control measures and optimize resource allocation.
Marketing & Business Growth
Develop and execute creative marketing strategies tailored to Zambia’s dining culture and market trends.
Collaborate with social media and design teams to boost the restaurant’s online presence and engagement.
Identify partnership and event opportunities (e.g., brunches, themed nights etc).
Conduct competitor analysis and suggest menu or pricing adjustments to stay competitive.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably in Zambia.
Proficiency with the Pilot POS system and other restaurant management tools.
Strong understanding of local restaurant trends, customer preferences, and dining culture.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to create and implement marketing strategies that drive growth.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
