Job description:

Purpose

The Specialist, Training, Haul Trucks will be responsible for conducting comprehensive training for KMP employees and designated contractors on Hauling operations in accordance to the KMP Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Planning for daily activities according to the training plan & schedule.
Conducting training in line with the Operator Training process or path.
Conducting assessments in line with the assessment procedure.
Instill a high awareness of safety in all aspects of training.
Ensure that the focus of training is principally on safety.
Maintaining a pro-active approach to all aspects of operational and behavioral safety and encourage teamwork within the department in line with KMP company values.
Proactively confront others about safety
Complete all documentation to a high standard and submitted timeously.
Monitor the training hours completed by each trainee to ensure adherence to the training path.
Administrate and record learning progress accurately and timeously.
Coaching & Mentoring Learners.
Ensure that all training is in line with the company’s approved procedures.
Liaising directly with the supervisors to minimize negative impact on production.
Ensure that all documents are signed off by relevant personnel
Conduct infield observation and refresher training on operators so as to enhance skills
Ensuring the learners identified skills gaps are closed
Demonstrate high levels of knowledge in WENCO systems operations
To competently use learning management systems (INX)
Report all lapses to your supervisor during training
Any other duties as may be reasonably requested of you, in line with effective operations of the Training Department.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Grade 12 School Certificate
Valid driving licence would be an added advantage
Diploma or certificate in Teaching methodology
Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
Valid first aid certificate
Blasting licence is an added advantage
Degree or Diploma  in Mining-related field would be an added advantage

Experience

·A minimum of 10 years experience in the mining industry.
·A minimum of 5 years experience operating haul trucks in a very busy mine environment
