Job description

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and Agribusiness Company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region. It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, leather, shoes, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

WORKSHOP REBUILDS FOREMAN– HUNTLEY FARM (X1)

 Required skills for the Role Include:

Coordinating the repairing of engines and gear boxes by making sure that quality is assured after every repair and/or maintenance of engines and gear boxes.
Responsible for ensuring that assembled mechanical components are done in line with specifications.
Driving the performance of diagnostic tests to determine vehicle functionality and issues, and correctly provide solutions for the respective problems.
Ensuring timeous completion of services and repairs within specified timeframes.
Responsible for conducting assessments on all company vehicles and assure the quality of the assessments done by taking accountability of results of the recommendations.
Ensuring that machines used in the workshop are well maintained and have the necessary operating certifications or licence for use.
 Ensuring workshop equipment and tools are in good working condition.
Coordinating the monitoring of inventory and order necessary spare parts, in line with minimum reorder quantities and re-order levels.
 Providing leadership by supervising and managing a team of Mechanics and Technicians.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
Participating in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensure that team members are trained and ensure that they fully operational.
 Ensuring and assuring quality training and mentorship to workshop staff.
 Inspecting completeness of work complete to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
Ensuring the accurate maintenance of records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or superior.

The Required Qualifications are:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School certificate
Craft Certificate in Auto Mechanics
Five years of experience in Auto Mechanic
 Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and workshop management systems.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.

The Required Technical skills:

Deep understanding of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Diagnostics and troubleshooting
 Quality control
Attention to detail
Tool and equipment proficiency
