Sabot Zambia Limited is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the below stated positions:

1.      Driver Trainer x 2   

Location:     Kitwe

Main Responsibilities

–        In charge of assessing old and new drivers’ driving competences

–        Responsible for preparation and updating of drivers training materials

–        Conducting of physical driver training on heavy trucks, and light vehicles

–        Ensuring effective communication of changes in Road Traffic and Safety     regulations

–        Investigating and assessing causes of road traffic accident, compiling reports and production of reports for management decisions.

–        Coaching and Counselling of all drivers involved in accidents whether first or third party caused

–        Testing trucks for fuel consumption on agreed routes against targeted consumption

–        Periodic route driving evaluations and refresher training

–        Ensuring driver adherence to all legal requirements and compliance to all ISO standards

–        Perform any other duties assigned by superiors

Qualifications/Requirements

–        Diploma in Transport and Logistics with Driving Instructor Certificate from recognized institutions

–        Minimum 5 years of cross border Truck driving/training experience

–        Knowledge/qualification in HAZCHEM materials handling and training

–        Certificate in First Aid Operations

–        Certificate in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, an added advantage

–        Excellent knowledge of Road Traffic and Safety requirement in the SADC region

–        Experience in driver training, driver assessment and talent development

2.      International Truck Drivers x 60 

Main Responsibilities

–        Effective and safe driving of company trucks across borders

–        Ensure safe delivering of clients Cargo through timeously and safe driving

–        Responsible for correct and safe hooking of trailers

–        Responsible for all tools/equipment and accessories on the truck

–        Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations as required by Law

–        Comply with Company Drivers Standard Instructions

–        Responsible for delivering client’s cargo in good order, and after delivery to ensure that the cargo documents (PODs) are signed for and stamped by the consignee

–        Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

–        Should have a School Certificate

–        Must have at least 3 years’ experience of cross-border driving with Trucks

–        Must be between 30 and 50 years

–        Should have a valid PSV driver’s license endorsed with D, valid Hazchem/Belsam Certificate, valid passport and all other relevant documents

–        Must have police clearance report

–        Able to write incident reports
