Mechanics for Africa (MfA) is seeking a passionate and dynamic Discipleship &
Communications Coordinator to join our Student Life Office. This role is ideal for
someone who loves working with young people, thrives in a Christian environment, and can creatively communicate the heart and mission of MfA to sponsors, donors, and the broader community.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Student Welfare & Discipleship
Lead and coordinate all spiritual life activities for students and staff.
Prepare and deliver discipleship and life skills sessions.
Provide spiritual and emotional counselling for students.
Develop and sustain campus traditions that promote MfA’s Christian identity.
Monitor and report on student welfare and coordinate non-academic support.
Convene welfare meetings when necessary.
2. Student Engagement & Leadership Development
Organise and oversee all non-academic student enrichment and leadership activities.
Mentor and assign student leaders to relevant committees and initiatives.
Foster a vibrant, student-focused community that builds responsibility, resilience, and
Christian character.
3. Communications & Donor Relations
Act as the primary communications liaison for student sponsors and donors.
Gather updates, testimonials, and good-news stories from student life.
Write engaging content for reports, newsletters, and fundraising communication.
Manage and grow MfA’s presence on social media in line with its values and mission.
Support college-wide storytelling with photos, videos, and digital content.
4. Institutional Support
Work closely with academic staff on student attendance, discipline, and wellbeing.
Uphold MfA’s Christian values and standards in all interactions and decisions.
Participate as a collaborative member of the college staff team.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Principal.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or degree in Christian Ministry or related field.
Passion for student mentorship and ministry.
Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
Confident use of social media for community engagement and outreach.
Highly organised, self-motivated, and dependable.
Maintains confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
A committed Christian with a heart for service.
Desirable Attributes
Experience in youth or campus ministry.
Skills in photography, video, or digital design.
Experience in nonprofit communications or donor engagement.
Warm, approachable, and team-oriented with a good sense of humour.
