Managment Accountant

Job description

We are a leading engineering company engaged in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, and plant hire services. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Management Accountant to join our growing team.

Job Purpose
The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing accurate financial information, analysis, and advice to support effective decision-making, project management, and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports.
Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Track financial performance of engineering and plant hire projects against budgets.
Oversee costing, pricing, and profitability analysis for projects and contracts.
Manage and reconcile accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and senior management to provide financial insights and support.
Ensure proper management of receivables, payables, and cash flow.
Support statutory audits and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Implement and improve internal financial controls and reporting systems.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA will be an added advantage).
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably in the engineering, construction, or plant hire industry.
Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, or SAP) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
