Job description

Silondwa Engineering Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced members of the public for the following vacant position:

(1)   PROCESS TECHNICIAN

Purpose

To perform routine technical tasks, working alongside and providing technical support to plant engineers to improve production operations. Will be responsible for the implementation of designs that allow the use of materials, equipment and personnel as safely and effectively as possible as well as  be responsible for resolving, improving and sustaining performance of dust abatement systems (bag houses /filter bags).

Main Duties

Carry out process measurements using various process tools and techniques to improve recovery operations
Provide support in conducting basic process checks and inspections
Provide support in conducting process audits
Displays a sense of urgency and adhere to a culture of quality, safety, and adherence to company core values
Education and Work Experience

Grade 12
Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering
3+ years’ relevant work experience
Good knowledge in Kiln operations and general cement manufacturing will be an added advantage
Skills and Competencies

Physically fit and ability for working with various process engineering tools.
·       Observation skill (attention to detail)

·        Physical ability to do the work

·       Good knowledge of metallurgical/chemical engineering best practices,  and other applicable safety standards

Good data gathering, analysis and problem solving skills

Basic proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
