Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Blaster to join our off-site exploration team in Central Province. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing blasting operations in accordance with regulatory standards and site-specific protocols. This is a field-based role requiring precision, discipline, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, load, and detonate explosives for rock fragmentation and excavation
Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety procedures
Interpret blast designs and drill patterns
Monitor and report on blast outcomes and site conditions
Maintain accurate records of explosives usage and inventory
Collaborate with geologists, drillers, and site engineers to optimize blast results
Ensure proper signage, barricading, and evacuation protocols are followed
Conduct post-blast inspections and environmental impact assessments
Key Competencies
Strong understanding of explosives handling and safety protocols
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blast plans
Proficiency in blast timing and initiation systems
Familiarity with drilling equipment and terrain analysis
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Effective communication and teamwork in remote environments
High attention to detail and situational awareness

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate
Valid Blasting License
Valid First Aid Certificate
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in  mining Operations
Occupational Health & Safety Certification is an  added advantage
EIZ Membership or relevant professional body
