Job description

Plant Supervisor

Responsible for the overall operations of the emulsion manufacturing plant, including production output, safety, staff management, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Oversee and coordinate daily plant activities.

– Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

– Maintain compliance with explosives and occupational safety regulations.

– Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols (fire, chemical, and process safety).

– Lead and manage operators, assistants, and lab technicians.

– Report production and incidents to senior management.

– Liaise with logistics and supply chain for raw materials and deliveries.

**Qualifications:**

– Diploma or Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or Industrial Operations.

– Explosives Handling License (Class B or higher).

– 5+ years in industrial operations, preferably in explosive or chemical manufacturing.

– Leadership and incident management training

Plant Operator

Operate emulsion production systems, maintain process parameters, and ensure the safe handling of raw materials and finished products.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Operate pumps, mixing systems, and batching control panels.

– Monitor emulsion quality through in-process checks.

– Clean, inspect and maintain equipment.

– Load emulsion into delivery trucks or bulk tanks.

– Assist with inventory tracking and stock control

– Respond to abnormal plant conditions and escalate issues.

**Qualifications:**

– Craft Certificate or Diploma in Chemical Processing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

– Explosives Handler’s Permit (Basic Level).

– 2+ years in a chemical or mining-related plant operation.

Plant Assistant (Forklift/Raw Material Handling)

Assist in the safe movement and handling of raw materials, operating forklifts, and supporting general logistics.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Receive, verify, and store raw materials and packaging.

– Operate forklift for loading/unloading of raw materials and packaged products.

– Maintain warehouse cleanliness and segregation standards.

– Comply with MSDS handling procedures for hazardous materials.

– Record material movements and inventory levels.

**Qualifications:**

– Grade 12 Certificate

– Forklift Operator Certificate (certified by recognized Zambian training body).

– Basic knowledge of chemical handling and PPE.

– At least 1 year in warehousing or plant operations.

Laboratory Technician

Conduct tests to monitor the quality and stability of raw materials, emulsions, and final products.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Collect and analyze product samples from batches.

– Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.

– Record and report lab results accurately and timely.

– Ensure compliance with safety procedures in sample handling.

– Implement corrective actions in consultation with plant supervisor.

**Qualifications:**

– Diploma or Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Process Engineering.

– Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality control systems.

– 2+ years in an industrial laboratory, preferably in explosive or chemical industries.
