Job description

Kasempa Radio is a community radio station based in Kasempa district north western province Zambia that predominantly broadcast in Kaonde and English languages, 60 % and 40% respectively.

The Station is seeking to recruit a NEWS EDITOR and is inviting applications from suitable qualified Zambians to fill the vacant position of NEWS EDITOR.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade twelve (12) School Certificate or  5 GCE  O levels
Diploma in Journalism
Experience in radio broadcasting setting.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Head the News room and oversee  Content.
Supervise Reporters
Conduct newsroom diaries and assign Reporters to gather news stories
Select ,edit  and sanction news stories for broadcast
Uphold and safe guard editorial guidelines and journalism ethics.
Able to anchor a live  interview or radio shows
Able to communicate in the local Kaonde language  is an added advantage but not a Must
