In line with our mission to effectively contribute to sustainable economic growth through the promotion, development, training, and regulation of the Zambian Construction Industry, the National Council for Construction (NCC) is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the following position:
AUTO MECHANIC GRADE NCC 6
Reporting directly to the Workshop Foreman, the job holder will undertake routine maintenance of council vehicles and plant in order to ensure availability of service fleet and plant.
Main Duties
Undertake Vehicle inspections, tests, test drives, diagnoses faults and carries out repairs as required
Attend promptly to any defects to workshop equipment and plant to ensure minimal disruption to services
Service NCC vehicles, by changing oils, plugs, fuel and air filters and other items needing replacement in order to ensure that vehicles are always in good working condition
Determines and requests for spares, service parts needed for each particular job using a requisition book
Assist the supervisor in identifying suitable outside garages to carryout major repairs and is in close contact with garages during repair to ensure that jobs are satisfactorily done before recommending payment
Maintain tools and equipment necessary for the maintenance of vehicles and helps in the acquisition of the same by liaising with the supervisor and keeps record of the same
Cleans NCC vehicles, plant and machinery before and after service or repairs.
Requirements
Grade 12School Certificate
Craft Certificate in Automotive Mechanics
At least 2 years’ relevant work experience
