Job Purpose

The Merchant Sales Manager will play a crucial role in new merchant acquisition and bank’s revenue growth in a fast-paced financial/banking environment. Build a sales pipeline by focusing on targeted merchants to expand the company’s customer base and increase revenue. Lead the sales team through retail branch banking channel to acquire new merchants and grow existing relationships , focusing on point of sales (POS) solutions and payment processing. While ensuring compliance and driving business growth.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Execute results by signing deals with strategic new customers
Continuously look for ways to improve and refine the selling process to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
Acquire new POS clients for the bank by generating leads from the retail branch branches.
Recruit, train and develop a unit of sales officers to acquire the business.
Sales manager will be responsible for the number of machines sold , revenue generated and lability volume generation from the clients.
Managing the existing POS relationships and increase the wallet share.
Identify the cross-sell opportunities for retail asset products of the bank.
Create and maintain healthy connect with the current account team of the bank, make them activate for POS Product.
Maintain proper MIS of the entire business unit.
Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape
Represent the bank at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the brand and solutions.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience 

Degree in Banking, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
An MBA will be an advantage
Must have a minimum of 4-5 Sales experience in payments/ POS financing products
Proven experience in Fintech, Digital Payment, Mobile Point of Sale operations and Key Customer Relationship Management in a well-established Commercial Bank, Micro-Financial Institution or payments company.
Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Ability to get buy-in from senior executives through clear communication and alignment on key success factors .
Analytical thinker who can quickly adapt to the changing needs of the fast-paced market environment.
Must be a member of a relevant professional body
