JOB OPPORTUNITY

EXTERNAL ADVERT

POSITION: ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN (01 POSITION) – ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of:   ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN. The position reports to the Electrical Foreman and operates within the Farm Area. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing electrical installation, repairing and maintaining tasks on all buildings and infrastructure across the Farm, including residential houses, office buildings storage sheds, pump stations, pivots, and irrigation-related facilities. The role ensures electrical systems function reliably and safely in compliance with company and regulatory standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Install electrical equipment components, and wiring in pump stations pivots, residential houses offices and other structures
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting distribution boards, air conditioners, transformers, VSDs  (Variable Speed Drivers), and motors
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime
Perform safe electrical isolations and reactivations on equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, diagrams and technical manuals.
Ensure all electrical work meets applicable safety and quality standards, including those set by the company and ABF Group
Apply proper Lock out, Tag-Out and Test-Out (LOTOTO) procedures during maintenance and repair work.
Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and installations for compliance and reference.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are used correctly, maintained in good condition, and stored appropriately after use.
Support energy efficiency initiatives and safe electrical operations across the estate.
Collaborate with other artisans, supervisors and departments for coordinated maintenance activities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Investigate Basic defects to determine the cause and appropriate solution.
Attention to detail and a commitment to qualify workmanship
Helping provide accurate estimates for repair/ installation/construction.
Coordinate with maintenance and repair professional to complete projects within timelines.
Communicate effectively with clients or building occupants to explain repairs and maintenance

Ensure adherence of safety standards and procedures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 School Certificate.
Craft Certificate
At least 2 years working experience with traceable references.
Suitably qualified applicant must provide certificates which have been verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
Must be a Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
