Reports to: Deputy General Manager at Kagem and Group Head of MIS

Job Purpose:

To develop and implement mine planning strategy. The job incumbear provides systematic mine planning support for mine operations with emphasis to produce short to medium term planning, mine layouts and production schedules, Review progress, costsolidate and provide reports on progress and future plans

Key Result Areas & Accountabilities

To ensure that reliable and accurate data is captured to the Management Information System (MIS) and that the data is analyzed un real time to support the decisious for the operational front line Managers to maximize the overall equipment effectiveness.
Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and anal MIS reports including among other items mining, Washing Plant and Sort House production performance figures
Managing the cost and fine constmits of projects
Preparation of the summary to MIS reports.
Tunely distribution of the MIS reports to all recipients.
Assist with implementation of a standardized MTS reporting template.
Initiate, facilitate and co-ordinate improvement ideas.
Receive improvement ideas from various departments
Summarize the initiated as well as received ideas and present them to management for evaluation,
Contribute to weekly production improvement review meetings.
Use of MIS data for fact based conversations to drive business improvements.
Formulate business cases for improvements using load lat
Hove an results driven attitude with a strong focus on practical business improvement with lasting results
Ensure that time studies are carried out ou Mining pieces of equipment as well as Washing Plant to collect data that would help it setting targets.
Ensure that conformance and variance checks on the set targets are periodically cared out and deviations brought to the attention of responsible heads of departments for corrective action
Ensure that equipment is correctly deployed at the Mine in line with their respective capacities as established through Time studies.
Assist Group Head of MIS and Senior Management in preparation of Business Plans for board meetings, strategy meetings and annual budgets by updating the existing business plans with updated capacity mapping, mine plans, production targets, unit costs and other relevant production and financial data.
Create charts, diagrams, summaries to business plans.
Contribute to Board presentations
Work closely with mur planning department to build long term business models to ensure accuracy and completeness Administer the affairs of the MIS department at the Mine
Supervise and motivate MIS team to work collectively and efficiently and ensure that data is accurately collected, analysed, summarised and disseminated.
Ensure the safety of MIS team members both at office and during field work,
Develop and maintain strong business relationships, working closely with geologists responsible for the quality control of ran off mine, intermediates and fished products, mechanical engineers to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of a plant, Sort House and product Managers for right grading, security to perform air tight security system and other specialists.
Develop good knowledge of the Kage and group’s strategy, objectives and initiatives so as to provide meaningful support to the Group Head of MIS and Senior Management.
Nature key relationships and maint wetworks aternally and externally
Learn core business processes and partner with Group Head of MIS, Senior Managers, funce teams, MIS teams and other relevant resources to develop roadmap and lead the progression of metrics, business analysis, and reporting automation agenda.
Provide assistance and training to local teams
Responsibilities also include supervising security efforts to prevent breaches from lackers, and to keep dats and confidential information sale.
Assuming responsibility for reporting of environmental monitoring and on-going performance improvement of processes
Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.
Any other ad hoc projects of objectives as required by business.

Professional Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Process/Mining Engineering, Industrial Enguerring, Geology Production/Operations Management
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Operations our of which minumum of 2 years in MIS continous improvement department is similar position at middle management or managerial level, preferably in a rating or mining related industry
Advanced user of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI and other relevat software/accounting systems
Expertise in project operations and management.
Experience in supervising and managing people.
English speaking with excellent communications skills (both written and verbally).
Continuous improvement qualineatious would be advantageous (green / black belt)
Proven track record on business improvement initiatives and results obtained
Zambia Qualifications Authority (QA) certificate of verification and evaluation of qualification will be required before the job offer
