Our client in Chingola, is looking for a Dairy Herd Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the agriculture industry.

DAIRY HERD MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dairy Herd Manager to join our team in Chingola. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our dairy herd, ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of our cows.

Key Responsibilities:
•Manage the dairy herd, including milking, feeding, and breeding programs
•Develop and implement pasture management plans to optimize feed quality and quantity from an irrigated platform
•Maintain accurate records of herd performance, milk production, breeding, and health
•Perform AI and pregnancy testing, and manage reproductive programs
•Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on milking and related equipment
•Lead and work within a team to achieve farm goals and objectives

Requirements: –
•Agricultural Diploma/Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Animal Science, Dairy Science)
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in a milking parlour, with experience in a rotary parlour and dairy herd management software e.g., Dairy HQ/Uniform Agri, a bonus
•Strong stockman skills, attention to detail and able to handle livestock safely and humanely
•Excellent record-keeping and analytical skills
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Positive work ethic, reliability, and integrity
