Job description

Job Summary:

Brace Loans Services Limited is seeking a dynamic and community-driven Loan Officer to manage the full lending process—from client acquisition and group formation to disbursement and loan recovery. The ideal candidate will support financial inclusion by empowering underserved communities through solidarity lending.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and recruit prospective borrowers within target communities
Facilitate formation and training of solidarity groups
Conduct loan appraisals, credit checks, and site/business visits
Collect and verify loan documentation
Present loan applications to the credit committee for approval
Oversee loan disbursements, repayments, and portfolio monitoring
Provide regular financial literacy training to clients
Maintain accurate records of borrower profiles, repayments, and group activity
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly performance and risk reports
Support branch marketing, outreach, and trust-building efforts
Work closely with community leaders, local NGOs, and co-operatives

Key Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in microfinance, banking, or community lending
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in local languages and English
Proficiency in MS Office and loan management systems
High integrity, empathy, and professionalism
Motorcycle riding skills with a valid license is an added advantage
Knowledge of solidarity/group lending is a plus

Working Conditions:

Community-based work; frequent field visits required
Must be comfortable working with diverse groups in rural and peri-urban areas
